The sun is shining, the water is turqoise, the waves are see through, and the wind has come on, and is blowing 20 knots! You could watch the day go by from your spot on the towel. Or, come kiteboarding with us! Edge up, carve down, slash, jump, glide, pop, boost, roll, loop, hang, or just cruise! Leave your towel on the beach, and join us on the water! Let us help you discover the incredible sport of kiteboading. Just a couple of lessons, and you too can view our South Florida coast from a new perspective. Lets call it 30/30 vision, 30 yards off shore, 30 ft. off the water!
How do I get started?
If you have been thinking of getting into the sport of kiteboarding, and just didn't know where to begin, you've come to the right place. Cloud Nine Kiteboarding is here to help guide you safely through the early stages of learning all about this incredible sport. If you have years of water experience, or have never riden a board in your life, we will get you up, and riding, in a safe environment, and pass on as much practical knowledge about our sport as we can fit into our lessons. As well as learning to ride, we like to stress responsible riding, and deep water self reliance.
What kind of results can I expect from lessons?
Everyone learns at a slightly different rate. And it does take practice. None of the individual skills that it takes to ride a board behind a kite are all that difficult to master. Through experience, Cloud Nine Kiteboarding has developed a step by step system. Starting with the basics, in the "Discovery Package", you will develope kite flying skills through flight drills. Then, take those skills to the water, in the "intermediate Package", where you will also learn practical safety techniques. And finally take your first rides, as well as learn advanced kite handeling, in the "Inepenent Package".
How long will this take? WHEN CAN I RIDE?
The average amount of time required to ride 50 yards or more, is around 8 to 14 Hrs. IF YOU TAKE LESSONS!!
If you choose to try learning on your own, it can take much longer, and is considered very irresponsible by the Kiteboarding community.
"Hi Shaun, we really enjoyed our lessons with you. It was great. As an
experienced teacher (over 30 years) back in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, I
can recognise a good teacher. Your experience and your knowlage are
tangible. I can also assure you that you are very structured and
clear-minded in your teaching. You developped an educationnal way of
teaching that is very effective, supported with simple and clear
examples. We are french canadian and as such, we don't have a perfect
english, but you made it easely understandable for us using simple words
Overall, with you and your wife Debbie, we feel like we found new friends in Florida."
